do credit biology biology is listed at the community colleges underneath biology 121 And this is specifically a daily College that's who we work with at Hubbard Heights do credit requires an SAT score of 480 on the reading portion of the SAT on the community college website you need to take an English test and have a score at 6 you will receive a lab credit for this class as long as you receive a grade of a c or higher in the class it is worth 5 credits 5 hours of credit and this is also a year-long course most courses at Hubbard are each semester their 3 and 3 since this is a live class it's worth 5 hours of credit most nursing programs required us as your starting biology class so this will I'm feeling that prerequisites for whatever nursing program is your in I'm if you need a lab class for college credit this would fill it too cuz most colleges will require you to take some type of science lab class they also take trips to Loyola Medical School this is the only year we haven't gone because of covid self Ali will be back next year the Stritch school of medicine is in Maywood you can see I have two pictures of one's kind of like how many operating room that students actually get trained in their simulators on different activities that they need to do to perform on a patient to keep that patient alive the bottom right picture has to do with a room they show us they divide us into three groups so each group rotates the cadavers one group we're not allowed to take any pictures this group is looking at like things have come out of bodies knee Replacements hip replacements and pacemakers and just some other odd things are in that room you should his field trip is taken between January and March play Elsa go see life from the heart that's at Christ Hospital on here we are dissecting a cat's heart is basically a Veals her it's a small cap this hard I think weight 3 pounds when I bought it so I usually buy this one because you to see the valves in interior very nicely we usually use sheeps hard to dissect y'all so I'm able to basically an auditorium you're able to see the whole operating room they also show you the operating team what procedures they need to they perform where they went to school education and how much do you make pasta whole entire from scrub nurses to the PA who's actually sewing up the patient this past year we saw a quadruple bypass and they also had to replace a valve on the in the right a horta I'm it was a bovine replacement which is actually a cow's bell they actually use for this human so basically this is the LaPlace so this is heavy on labs usually you will do a lab that's got the directions and then after we're done completing the lab the lab usually has a couple sections we have to do then you'll design your own lab through that designing your own lab you will have to write up your procedures and and materials and be able to list it basically we take the original lab and tweak it we change one variable or something so we do anything from microscope work to cells to osmosis diffusion so basically take a normal regular biology course and we go in-depth and all the tropics we do electrophoresis at the end for DNA we will do a photosynthesis lab asonia the respiration lab osmosis diffusion lab microscope lab do an enzyme lab so this is very heavy on Labs all the labs that we do in class are the same labs they do at the college level of course any questions please get a hold of mrs.
