Occupational Prep I-7th Period (Period 7)

Course Description

This course is designed to equip students with the real world occupational skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century workplace.  Students will be introduced to the world of work from the viewpoints of the employer and employee. Self-assessments will allow students opportunities to evaluate their potential in the workplace.  Units/topics in this course include: Moving Out on your Own, Everyday Household Tasks, Health and Safety, Transportation and Travel, Car and Driver, Community Resources, Managing Money, Consumer Spending, Job Search, and Getting Ahead at Work.  Students will develop a portfolio throughout the course which will be used for assessment as well as for them to take with them upon graduation.
